last week, the college's english department asked us, the students to hand in a poem on love or friendship for the 'love & friendship day', so here's the poem i've submitted.

IF I DON'T

If i don't care for you,

then why am I worried when you're away?

If I don't care for you,

then why do I wait for your call everyday?

If I don't need you,

then why am I feeling bright when we met?

If I don't need you,

then why does your name resound in my head?

If I don't love you,

then why do I feel this tenderness in my heart?

If I don't love you,

then why does being apart from you feel so hard?

If you realize all these,

then why do you keep asking me how I feel?

I do care for you, I do need you, and I do love you,

and I want you to know that these words are real.

even if someday,

you might leave me for another girl
